Why it matters

In-App Communication, in context.

A message is easier to act on when it belongs to a request or community discussion. A general inbox can separate a conversation from the record it concerns. It can also imply that any person may contact anyone else, regardless of Estate or permission.

The Estalink approach

A considered way forward.

Estalink's current communication foundation is contextual: Help Desk requests and replies, scoped community interactions and governed updates. The application keeps the conversation attached to its purpose and audience. It does not expose a general-purpose chat or calling service.

The wider communication direction should build on those boundaries rather than remove them. Future channels would need clear participation, delivery, retention and moderation rules. A message's transport status would still be different from the business outcome it discusses, and a notification would remain a pointer to the appropriate source record.

The conceptual journey

From context to the next step.

  1. Choose the purpose

Use Help Desk for a service conversation or the appropriate community workflow for a community interaction. Security incidents belong in their own governed channel.

  2. Respect the audience

The current Estate and permissions determine visibility. A participant should not gain unrelated access merely by receiving a link.

  3. Keep the reply attached

Use the current request or discussion when responding. Owned mutations and uncertainty handling protect the intended contribution without broadening its scope.

  4. Return to the source

Use notifications as navigation aids where applicable. The current conversation and workflow state remain authoritative for what has actually happened.

Help Desk and Community Engagement provide today's specific channels. Smart Notifications supports awareness. A future communication expansion would remain subject to the same permission boundaries.

Insight without taking authority.

Advisory navigation may help locate a relevant discussion. AI cannot send messages, impersonate a participant or expand the audience of a private conversation.

Availability & deployment context

Help Desk and community replies are core. Unrestricted chat, voice/video calling and a general messaging platform are not current capabilities.

Capability availability may vary by estate, deployment and release phase.

A demonstration should establish which workflows are applicable to your Estate, who is authorized to use them and what integration or release conditions still apply. Illustrations on this page are conceptual, not customer records, live metrics or operational controls.
